Schools are closed. People have been stuck in their houses. London has come to a standstill. In fact, snow has been wreaking havoc in the UK for two entire days now. That’s right, up to six whole inches of real life snow has fallen in the past two days. And everyone has lost their minds! The news sternly warned us to stay inside, avoiding the roads at all cost. “Don’t go out, don’t go to work, don’t even plough your way through all 3cm of the stuff to take the dog out - your poor ego could get a teensy bit bruised when you inevitably fall on your arse.” It’s just a bit of snow, but at least it’s a change from all the economic recession malarkey, I guess.

We all know that snow was, in fact, created purely for entertainment purposes. Being the super cool person that I am1, my first instinct was to dive on the ground and create a shape which, for the first time ever, actually resembled an angel:

I enjoyed the fluffy covering of the garden, and the birds hopping around merrily hunting for food. I even enjoyed a brief snowball fight. I did not enjoy the slushy mess that followed such snowball fights, or the distinct lack of public transport on my way to sixth-form. I don’t envy you guys who have snow all winter - I’d like some greenery back please. It is terribly pretty, though:

So much for global warming.

I have to admit that it’s nice to turn on the news and it’s not about how we are all going to die via credit crunch.

I have to say, the result of you jumping in the snow and flailing around is more impressive than the result of me doing the same thing!
